Fifteen faculty recognized as exceptional mentors

The Exceptional Graduate Faculty Mentor Award recognizes the work that faculty mentors do to improve the graduate student experience


Fifteen faculty have been recognized with this year鈥檚 Exceptional Graduate Faculty Mentor Award, the Graduate School announced this week.听

These faculty were nominated by students, department or program administrators, faculty or staff for their outstanding contributions either to mentoring individual graduate students, improving the overall climate of graduate education within their program, or improving the graduate program itself.听

鈥淢ore and more research is highlighting the importance of faculty mentorship to graduate student success. That鈥檚 part of the reason the Graduate School created the Graduate Inclusive Mentorship Community or GIMC, and this award,鈥 said Scott Adler, dean of the Graduate School and vice provost for graduate affairs. 鈥淭he faculty members recognized by this award have demonstrated their willingness to go above and beyond for their students and we鈥檙e excited to be able to honor these excellent leaders.鈥澨
