, professor and department chair of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at the University of Pennsylvania, will be joining our department for the ME Distinguished Seminar Series. The events, open to all faculty, staff and students, feature scholars from a wide range of peer institutions across the country and some of the world's most prominent experts in mechanical engineering.

Turner's seminar will be held on Thursday, November 13 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at MBE 156 in the Ofelia Miramontes and Leonard Baca Education Building. The talk is titled "Mechanics of Interfaces with Switchable Adhesion," and will explore how interface mechanics can be exploited to realize electroadhesive devices with higher performance.Ìý
