ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Middle School Ensembles Member and Parent Information
Ensemble placement
Although we accept all interestedÌýstudents into theÌýÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Middle School Ensembles (MSE) program, we like to listen to each student individually onÌýour first rehearsal to determine proper ensemble placement; this enables us to ensure our selection of appropriate repertoire for our performance.
To facilitate this, we ask each student to prepare a short étudeÌýfor their instrument (see below). Additionally, students may be asked to playÌýa few scalesÌýto help us better understand everyone’s strengths in terms of range.
While these placements should feel relaxed—all are welcome!—we do ask that students come prepared.
