CU Science Discovery hires undergraduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work alongside instructors in the classroom and provide overall support to K-12 summer camps and high school classes and a variety of other programs throughout the academic year. The week prior to the start of summer, TAs will participate in a required training program that prepares them to be effective in a summer camp setting. Typically, summer programs take place in classrooms, laboratories and field sites throughout the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ campus and field sites and at the CU Anschutz Medical campus.Ìý

  • Love science and enjoy making it fun for all ages
  • Enjoy working with children of all energy levels and abilities
  • Are majoring in a STEM or education field
  • Are responsible, flexible and see themselves as a leader and role model to others

Position-specific Details:

  • TA positions offer approximately 20-40 hours per week.
  • All TAs (new and returning) must be available for a majority of the summer camp season – June 1-July 31, 2026.
  • TAs are required to complete a mandatory (paid) in-person training prior to the start of the summer season (May 26-29, 2026; ~9am-5pm daily).
  • Pay rate: $18 per hour.

Temporary teaching assistant appointments are eligible for accrued sick time. Sick time is earned on a prorated basis and is calculated at 24 hours of accrued sick time per academic term for full time (100%) appointments or a combination of appointments during the same term of employment.
