About us
Since 1986,ÌýBiochemistry at the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ hasÌýofferedÌýa world-class interdisciplinary research, education, and training environment in a beautiful mountain setting. Currently, the Biochemistry DepartmentÌýhas over 140 researchers, including 21 tenure-trackÌýfaculty, 1 research faculty, 2 teaching professors, ~75 Ph.D. students, ~42 postdocs and scientists,Ìý~29Ìýtechnical staff, and 7 administrative staff. There are ~400 undergraduate BiochemistryÌýmajors, many whoÌýperform undergraduate research.
The Biochemistry Department is renowned for its research. The faculty include aÌýNobel Laureate, 5Ìýmembers of the National Academy of Sciences, 3 Howard Hughes Investigators, and many other esteemed scientists who have established themselves as research leaders.ÌýIn 2022, the BiochemistryÌýDepartment had external awards of $39,797,430 and during fromÌý2010-2016 the department published over 800 articlesÌýin scholarly journals. Overwhelmingly, these papers include graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates as coauthors.Ìý
