Biochemistry Events & Administrative Student Assistant Position

The Biochemistry Department seeks to hire an undergraduate Biochemistry major student assistant.

Student Assistant Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist with undergraduate events, catering, set-up/clean-up, commencement, end of year celebration, surplus and inventory, website and Instagram maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have excellent communications skills, strong independent work ethic, detail oriented, and willing to help in a variety of situations. Candidates must be able to lift and set up tables.

Work schedule: Approximately 10-15 hours per week. A consistent work schedule will be established based on available hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. customized to fit your academic schedule. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Start Date: Fall 2025, expected to continue for the academic year. Hourly pay of $17.00.

Responsibilities will include to provide in-person, one-on-one sessions, help student improve their knowledge of the course material, provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment, maintain consistent communication with the student, and maintain consistent communication with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3.0 GPA, Minimum of a B+ in the tutoring course. Full time ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ student who is at least a sophomore, passionate about course content and has the desire to share with other students, desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own success. Work with limited supervision.

Start Date: Fall 2025, expected to continue for the academic year. Hourly pay of $20.00.
