Dr. Ellie Gates joins the LEEDS School of business as a seasoned People & Culture leader in High Tech, and an Assistant Teaching Professor in Organizational Leadership. Gates brings over 20 years’ experience leading HR functions in Talent, Learning, and Performance across some of the world’s best companies: Adobe, Box, Microsoft, T-Mobile, Snowflake Computing, and Verizon (formerly MCI Business). She also brings nearly a decade of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a broad spectrum of areas including Business Law, Communications, Entrepreneurship, Ethics, Leadership, Organizational behavior, as well as Strategy and Policy.

Gates recently graduated from Regent University with her Doctorate in Strategic Leadership (2025) and a concentration in Strategic Foresight. Her doctoral project focused on Compassion as an operating system (COS) for Human Flourishing weaving together system dynamics, leadership, and compassion to help people thrive. Gates research and teaching interests include compassion, systems dynamics, human flourishing, leadership and change.

Gates also maintains an active consulting practice, established in 2016. µþ³Ü²õ¾±²Ô±ð²õ²õ°Õ±ð³¦³ó²ÔéÌýprovides executive coaching, consulting, and strategic facilitation to help organizations Align Strategy, Forge Leaders, and Navigate Change. She has worked and taught in thirteen countries and multiple sectors including private equity, pre/post IPO start-ups, non-profits and multinational organizations in high-tech, fin-tech, legal-tech, med-tech, and government.Ìý
