Biography

Dr. Lev ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾±Ìýis an Assistant Teaching Professor with the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Division in the Leeds School of Business, and the recipient of the 2025 Frascona Teaching Excellence Award: the highest teaching honor in Leeds.Ìý Dr. Szentkirá±ô²â¾±â€™s teaching consists in diverse courses on business ethics, global political economy, and environmental sustainability—which draw on his interdisciplinary Political Science training in normative political theory, environmental policy, and international relations. ÌýDr. ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾± is also aÌýFaculty Associate with the Environmental Studies Department, he serves as the Faculty Director forÌýGlobal Initiatives in Leeds, he is the Founder and Executive Director of theÌý, and he serves on the Board of Directors for (an educational non-profit organization in Keene, NH that promotes sustainable agriculture). Ìý

Dr. ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾±â€™s applied ethics research centers on public health risks, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.Ìý In striving to develop ethically justified yet pragmatic policy solutions, the broader aim of Dr. ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾±â€™s research—including his first book, Ìý(New York: Routledge, 2019), and his most recent article, —is to explore practical ways in which vulnerable groups in our communities can be protected from injustices.Ìý In addition to his contributions to various edited volumes, Dr. ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾±â€™s work hasÌýalso appeared in the Journal of Business Ethics (8.7 impact factor); Ethics, Policy, and Environment (1.4 impact factor); and International Political Science Review (impact factor: 2.7).Ìý Dr. ³§³ú±ð²Ô³Ù°ì¾±°ùá±ô²â¾±â€™s current book project is an edited volume with Oxford University Press, titledÌýFuture Uncertain: Overcoming Barriers to Effective Climate Policy, co-authored with Dr. Kris Karnauskas in CU’s Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.
