In Spring 2025, theÌýEducational Technology Research Assistants (ETRA) conducted a mixed-methods research study to gain insight into the perspectives of CU undergraduate students on generative AI. The researchers asked the following questions:

  • How and why are ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ undergraduates actually using AI?
  • What do they think about this technology?
  • And what policies and practices do students want their instructors and the broader institution to implement going forward?

Find the ETRA’s report of findings here.

This report presents survey results from a final dataset of 2,992 respondents. Appendices are included with data tables for each individual college and for students who have vs have not taken asynchronous courses. In future updates to this report published on a rolling basis over the Fall 2025 semester, we will also directly compare how different demographic groups answered survey questions (e.g. by college, year in school), as well as present additional qualitative analyses of open-response and interview data.

Ultimately, our goal is to inform future initiatives and interventions related to generative AI on the ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ campus. If you’d like to request a presentation or discuss this research, please contactÌýJacie Moriyama.Ìý ÌýÌý
