SciShield is a centralized, web-based platform that simplifies lab management as well as chemical, biological, and radiological safety compliance for CU-Boulder researchers and their facilities. Visit SciShield to take lab safety trainings, keep track of your group and its members, perform Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) weekly audits, as well as tracking your laboratory compliance inspections.

The Main Lab Profile is the central hub for each laboratory within our database. This main page serves as the primary access point for lab members, offering a streamlined view of essential lab details including hazards, chemicals, spaces and lab-specific resources.

The Spaces List provides a centralized view of all rooms assigned to your laboratory. This page displays detailed information for each space—including room numbers, locations, designations (e.g., office, wet lab, storage), and associated personnel—making it easy to keep track of your lab’s physical footprint. Lab members can quickly reference, review, and manage room assignments

The Documents section houses all essential laboratory documentation. This includes required files such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drain-disposal procedures, safety protocols, and other compliance-related materials. Lab members can view, upload, and manage documents to ensure that all regulatory and operational guidelines are up to date and readily available for reference.

The ChemTracker page provides a comprehensive inventory of all chemicals associated with your laboratory. This page lists each chemical along with its corresponding room number, storage location, and quantity, helping labs maintain accurate records and ensure safe chemical management. The chemical inventory must be updated yearly. For more information, visit the Chemical Inventory page.

The Training section is your go-to place to see which lab trainings you need to complete. Here, you’ll find a list of required courses, along with your current completion status. Use this page to stay on top of deadlines, access training materials, and make sure you're cleared to work safely in the lab. For more information about required trainings, please contact EH&S or visit the Training page.
