There are many ways to get involved with the Basic Needs Center, including organizing a food drive, volunteering at the Buff Pantry and more. Your support goes directly towards funding and maintaining the center and ensuring access for current and future ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ students.

  • Buff Pantry: Assist with organizing the pantry, giving tours, greeting clients and logging visits
  • Mobile food pantries​: Help with information collection, food distribution and line management
  • Swipe It Forward: Table at dining hall locations to encourage students to donate meals
  • Buff Break Boxes: Help distrubute fully prepared meals to ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ students

The Buff Pantry accepts shelf stable items that have at least a three-month window to expiration and non-perishable items that are in good condition and not already expired. Pantry items needed:

  • Non-perishables (canned foods, pasta, rice, oatmeal, instant meals, snacks, drinks, condiments/sauces, etc.)
  • Personal care items (deodorant, shaving supplies, menstrual products, hair care, etc.)
  • Household cleaning supplies (detergent, cleaning sprays, etc.)

Donations can be dropped off in designated donation bins either at our Buff Pantry (UMC 1B73) or front office (UMC 308) both located within the University Memorial Center duringÌýregular hours of operation. Please note, the Buff Pantry has different hours of operation than our front office.Ìý
